Where the Lineage Begins

The Two Wings Form is the first form of Tai Zu Hua He Quan — taught here exactly as it has been passed down through the Grand Ancestor White Crane lineage. This is where your journey starts.

Taught As It Was Received

Every movement taught exactly as it was passed down to me in Taiwan — nothing added, nothing removed.

About the Course

Most martial artists spend years — sometimes decades — searching for something real. A system with depth. A lineage with roots. A teacher who actually went and got it. I moved to Taiwan at the age of 30 with nothing but a commitment to find the real thing. What followed was 20 years of daily training under masters, some who had never taught a Westerner. 3 to 6 hours a day. Every day. What I'm passing down here is called Tai Zu Hua He Quan — Grand Ancestor White Crane Kung Fu. This branch has never been taught outside Taiwan. Until now. This self-paced course delivers the foundational form of White Crane Kung Fu broken into three progressive sessions of one hour each so you can learn on your own schedule, from anywhere in the world. There is also something inside this course I have debated sharing publicly for a long time — an internal training system (neigong) specific to this White Crane lineage that most practitioners spend years searching for and never find. I will leave the details for those who show up.

What will you learn?

The foundational form of White Crane Kung Fu — broken into 3 progressive sessions. Six hours of content! The body mechanics and principles that make White Crane different from every other system The internal layer that most practitioners spend years searching for and never find The martial application behind every movement in the form The history and lineage of Tai Zu Hua He Quan — where it comes from and why it matters A direct transmission from a 20-year lineage — not a YouTube tutorial

Who is this for?

Complete beginners who want to learn a real traditional system from scratch Martial artists who feel something is missing from their current training People drawn to Chinese culture, history, and traditional kung fu Anyone who has ever wanted to learn something rare and authentic Students who prefer learning at their own pace with lifetime access to recordings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need martial arts experience? No. This course is designed to work for complete beginners. All you need is comfortable clothes and enough space to move freely. How long is the course? 3 hours of instruction broken into 3 week segments — designed for progressive learning at your own pace. You have lifetime access so you can revisit any session whenever you want. What equipment do I need? Nothing. Just comfortable clothes you can move in and approximately 6 feet of space in any direction. No weapons, no pads, no equipment of any kind. Is this the same as the live cohort? The self-paced course contains the same foundational curriculum as the live cohort. The live cohort includes direct real-time feedback and personal interaction with the instructor. The self-paced course offers the same material on your own schedule. Why haven't I heard of this system before? Because it has never been taught publicly outside Taiwan until now. Tai Zu Hua He Quan has remained within a closed lineage for generations. This course is the first public transmission of this material in the Western world. What language is the course taught in? English — with the original Chinese names of each movement included and explained so you understand both the practical and cultural context of what you are learning. Will there be more courses after this one? Yes. This is Level 1 — the foundational form. Students who complete this course can purchase Levels 2, 3, etc. as they become available. I plan to teach the whole system in a year so you won't get stuck!

Student Testimonials

Experience the Impact of Grand Ancestor White Crane Kung Fu

I have had interest in this style of crane since it was introduced to the group (a year or so ago?). I have been a white crane practitioner for a few years now (different style apart from this) but have had a larger background in kung fu for a decent duration of time. I say all of this to encourage anyone on the fence about this style of crane or Dave's teachings/ future offerings in general. What about online training? There is a lot of information in either camp for online training (is it effective vs ineffective) however for the discerning martial scholar and seasoned player this venue really seems to fit the bill. I am a husband and father before a kung fu player so online study is perfect. For those wondering about Dave's style and flavor of teaching- youll find a great balance of practicality and conditioning followed by form exercise. The intricate movements in the form are broken down in a way that makes sense....you dont have to wait years in horse stance, serve the tea correctly, have the right red folder, or make the journey up the mountain for the "secrets", they are clearly conveyed to help you master your own martial path. If anyone is curious as to practice habits for this program and time commitment (again, I have other stuff outside kung fu)- I encourage meaningful time through the week but also "micro breaks" of practice throughout the day, everyday. This paired with some basic conditioning and resistance work pair nicely for physical development, form retention, and martial awareness behind the movements. Again, no mystical fluff (ive spent a lot of time looking for that stuff too-different story for another time!), just practical movements with intention. Have fun out there and get at it!

I am definitely going to continue with classes — it has been such a good experience all the way around. I feel the White Crane style suits me, and it also suits my age. The focus on Nei Gong, strength training, and breathing combined is absolutely the best and exactly what I've been looking for on every level. I don't like this material — I LOVE this material. It feels like home to me. It fits so perfectly with my previous training, ethos, and background. Your wisdom and experience are a great honor to take part in. I can't thank you enough Dave and I look forward to further training with you.

I've studied Tai Chi Chuan, Liu Ha Ba Fa, and Shaolin Black Tiger Kung Fu, as well as Okinawan Karate and the Filipino Martial Arts, and can say, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that Dave Chesser is the BEST Kung Fu teacher that I have ever come across. He teaches advanced concepts that he teaches in a very clearly understandable manner, that you may receive after 20 years or so, if you're lucky! I highly recommend Mr. Chesser's classes, no matter what type of martial art you're studying.

I just want to say that Dave’s a great teacher. He not only teaches the form but teaches the essential exercises to develop the physical abilities which give power to the techniques in the form, including developing the unique breathing associated with this particular crane style. His background in coaching fitness is a great complement to his being a martial arts teacher. I’m looking forward to further teaching.
